Algerian defender Rachid Bouhenna in deadline day move to Dundee United

Dundee United have announced the signing of Algerian defender Rachid Bouhenna on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The 27-year-old former MC Alger player is the latest in a host of new signings at Tannadice as Csaba László rebuilds his squad to win promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

In a statement on the club’s website, László expressed his delight at the capture of Bouhenna, “Rachid is a player we have followed for quite a while and I am delighted to bring him into the squad and add to our defensive strength.”

The player also said, “I am pleased to join Dundee United and show my ability in Scottish football. I cannot wait to get out on the park for United.”

Meanwhile, Dumbarton have announced the loan signing of United’s Scott Allardice until January.

The defender, who can also play in midfield, recently played in the Dundee United reserve side who snatched a late 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Tuesday at St Andrews.
