Paul McMullan starred in the last round of the IRN-BRU Cup against St Johnstone, scoring two goals to secure victory. However, despite limited first team chances he has said that he has enjoyed working under Craig Easton and Scott Robertson.
“I really like working under the two of them.” he told Discovery Sports Media.
“The two of them have been really good to me. They speak to me all the time and give me really good confidence. It has been one of the positives of the year and they’ve been giving me bits of information sometimes that you just need.”
As well as enjoying working with the reserve team coaches in the IRN-BRU Cup campaign, McMullan also believes that the players are positive about the chance to show what they can do against Alloa on Saturday at Tannadice.
“I think as a squad we are looking forward to the game and it is maybe an opportunity for guys who have not had as much time on the pitch recently to show people that we’re still here and we’re still valuable members of the squad.”
“It (IRN-BRU Cup) is valuable for guys that have not played much time. It lets the manager see everybody else and see how they are getting on. It maybe lets the boys that have not had as much time give the manager a problem for next week.”
McMullan is also looking forward to playing in front of the Tannadice crowd and believes that hard work will ensure great backing from the stands.
“As long as they can see that you’re giving your best then I think the fans will get behind you and that’s hopefully what the boys will do on Saturday.”
